Every staff member at ECS is of Ethiopian descent. Nearly all of our staff members were born and raised in Ethiopia. Having immigrated to the US themselves and experienced those challenges, our staff members are able to identify with our client population on a personal level and provide customized service plans and support that address their individual needs.
Hirut Dube has been an employee at ECS for over 5 years.
In her career, Hirut has supported thousands of clients become citizens, get jobs, and move into homes.

Development and Operations Coordinator
Rahel Gaguro is a Rainier Valley Corps fellow.
She has over five years of demonstrated leadership in nonprofit management, social services, and donor relations with communities of color on a global scale.

Meron Kasahun is a Seattle native and has grown up closely within the Ethiopian community.
She is a recent graduate from Bryn Mawr College and has been a long-time ECS volunteer.
ESL and Voter Engagement Coordinator
Tesfa Melaku is a Companis volunteer. Tesfa’s career began as a lawyer in international adoption law.
Now, Tesfa uses her experience to teach our ESL course and support voter registration and education.
Programs and Community Engagement Coordinator
Febben is a Rainier Valley Corps Fellow with extensive experience in social services and youth development.
Febben has been very active in the Ethiopian community through her volunteer work.
Menbere Tadesse has been working for ECS as a volunteer since 2010.
Menbere manages our on-site coffee shop, which is open from 10 AM – 6 PM Monday – Friday.
